The Thing feature allows users to connect their components (Kiosks and Print Delivery Station) to the internet, allowing them to remotely control and monitor the devices associated. This feature allows for a more convenient and efficient way of controlling and monitoring components and devices, as well as the ability to automate certain tasks, such as Restart Thing Application.
Getting Started:
To access the Thing screen, the user simply need to login the ePRINTit SaaS and on the menu bar navigate to the Things/Thing area. This feature is managed by permissions and the user must be associated to a group that allows the user to access this option. To get more information about groups and how to associate it to a role type that has this permission, click here.
Adding a New Thing:
Click on the Add button.
Enter the thing’s required information.
Click on Add button to create the new thing.

Updating a Thing:
Click on the the three dots under the Actions column and select Edit option.
The Update Thing screen will be displayed. After the necessary changes are made, click on Update button.

Deleting a Thing:
Click on the the three dots under the Actions column and select Delete option.
A confirmation message will be displayed. Once confirmed, the thing will be deleted from ePRINTit SaaS system.

The customer name is a crucial element in the system, as it allows users to identify and track the customer associated with a specific transaction. This field is disabled in this screen, that means it cannot be changed. For more information about how to onboarding a new customer, click here.
Location Name
Generally the name of the location or something that identifies it. For more information about locations, click here.
Device Name
Tags
The ePRINTit SaaS portal offers you a range of functions that save time and effort. These functions also include tags. Tags can be created and assigned to a things so that the respective user can be found more easily using the filter.
For example, you can create a tag “office” and assign this tag to all things that are related to it. Afterwards, you can filter all the office-relevant things and get an overview of which thing are currently in the office filter. Since anyone can create a tag, it is best to think of a system beforehand so that there is a structure and clear overview.
Status
The thing status field is used to indicate the current status of a thing. This field is essential for keeping track of thing activity.
To update the thing status, you can use the toggle field. The available options are:
Active: The thing is currently active.
Inactive: The thing has been deactivated.
