Uploading a Document
Open the document to be uploaded using any Microsoft Office program and on the Print option select ePRINTit Printer and click on the Print button.
The file will be upload to the ePRINTit SaaS Portal and will be sent to the printer queue and the following screen will be displayed, where the user can update some of the file configuration. Click on the Ok button to upload the file on the Applications/Print screen. To get more information about jobs submitted, click here.
Document name: Name of the document uploaded. If the field Edit Document Name in Profiles screen in ePRINTit SaaS Portal is enabled, then the user will be able to update the document name. To get more information about this configuration, click here.
Printer: Printer device where the job will be printed. This field is only displayed if the field Prompt for Printer is enabled in Profiles screen in ePRINTit SaaS Portal. To get more information about this configuration, click here.
Pages: Number of the pages that is going to be uploaded/printed. This field also displays the color of the document (Grayscale/Color). Once this field has been configured in the tool used to open/print the document, this field will be displayed as read-only and cannot be modified in the Print Driver/File to Print tool.
Orientation: Paper orientation of the document that is going to be uploaded/printed (Portrait/Landscape). Once this field has been configured in the tool used to open/print the document, this field will be displayed as read-only and cannot be modified in the Print Driver/File to Print tool.
Staple: The user can specify the location on the sheet where the document is stapled. Only certain tools allow this field to be configurable. In some tools this field is displayed as Booklet Bidding Edges.
Paper Size: Size of the paper that is going to be uploaded/printed. Once this field has been configured in the tool used to open/print the document, this field will be displayed as read-only and cannot be modified in the Print Driver/File to Print tool. The paper size accepted by Print Driver/File to Print tool is configured in the Joblist Setting screen in the ePRINTit SaaS Portal. To get more information about this configuration, click here.
Duplex: The user can specify whether the document will be printed on one side of the sheet (one-sided) or on both sides (duplex). Once this field has been configured in the tool used to open/print the document, this field will be displayed as read-only and cannot be modified in the Print Driver/File to Print tool.
Cost: Price to be charged to the user for uploading/printing the document. This cost is calculated based on the specified paper size, print color (color or grayscale), and the number of pages. The printing cost is configured in the Joblist Setting screen in the ePRINTit SaaS Portal. To get more information about this configuration, click here.
If the Remember me until Logout field in the respective profile is enabled, the file will be sent to printer and will be displayed on Applications/Print screen without asking for user’s credentials again.
Depending on the Profile’s Validation Type, a different screen will be displayed to the user. To get more information about the existing Validation types, click here.
After the file is submitted, if the file submission is completed successfully, the following message will be displayed in the system tray. This confirmation will only be displayed if the field Disable Confirmation is inactive in Profile screen in the ePRINTit SaaS Portal. To get more information about this configuration, click here.
Software Update
On startup or once a day, the drive will check for a new software update. Whenever a new version of the Print Driver/File to Print is available in the cloud and is ready for deployment, it can be automatically installed for the user. The Print Driver/File to Print will download that version and install it silently. This functionality should be previously configured in ePRINTit SaaS Portal. Creating a Guest Name Validation Profile
Follow these steps to create a guest name validation profile in your portal:
Login to the Portal:
Use your credentials to log in to the portal.
Navigate to Settings:
In the menu options, locate and click on the Settings option.
Select Profiles:
From the settings menu, select Profiles.
Add a New Profile:
Click on the Add Profile button.
Configure Profile Fields:
Fill in the available fields according to your requirements.
In the Profile Type field, select Driver Configuration.
Set the Validation Type to Guest Name.
Save the Profile:
Click on the Add Profile button to save your guest name validation profile.
Print Driver Setup:
Open the file for the print driver.
Enter the domain associated with the newly added guest profile.
Click on the Check button to verify available profiles within the entered domain.
Select Your Profile:
From the list of profiles displayed, select your profile in the Profile Name option.
Click on the Okay button to confirm your selection.
Guest Name Entry Before Printing
Once the guest name validation profile is set up, the print driver will prompt for the guest name before executing any print job. This guest name will also be displayed on the job confirmation page, ensuring clarity and accountability for print jobs associated with specific guests.
Additional Information on Guest Login
Purpose: The guest login feature allows users to authenticate themselves without requiring a full user account. This is particularly useful for temporary users or clients accessing shared resources.
How to Access Guest Login:
Navigate to the login page of the portal.
Select the Guest Login option if available.
Enter the required information, such as name and email, to create a temporary session.
Guest Permissions:
Guests typically have limited access compared to regular users. They can only access specific features allowed by the system, such as printing documents with a guest name validation.
Session Duration:
Guest sessions may have a time limit. Ensure to complete necessary tasks within the allocated session duration to avoid disruptions.
Logout Process:
It’s recommended to log out after completing your tasks to maintain security and privacy.
